Semiconductors are easily one of the most important components to many products that we now use on a daily basis. Because of this, it is also important to understand how they work.

According to How Stuff Works in their article “How Semiconductors Work,” while semiconductors are simple enough in their construction, they are constantly being improved upon which is a benefit to consumers as they are in nearly any product that is computerized.

“You find semiconductors at the heart of microprocessor chips as well as transistors. Anything that’s computerized or uses radio waves depends on semiconductors,” How Stuff Works said.
